Members are reminded that this pond is closed for the foreseeable future to allow us to complete the extensive work that is being carried out.
To allow us to start on major work at Claxton Pond, the venue will be closed to all fishing, including night fishing, until further notice. Also parking beside the farm house is now also currently terminated for the foreseeable future.
The landowner is currently maintaining the track from the property down to the pond to enable harvesting of timber to be undertaken in Autumn. It has been reported that there is evidence of some ‘anglers’ defecating near the pond. This situation is not to be tolerated and may result in the loss of the water. If it is found necessary to ‘relieve oneself’, please ensure that that the results are well cleaned up and buried.
