Welcome to the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers website. The YDAA was started in 1887 and now encompasses ten individual clubs and has over a thousand members.
From this site you can access details on all all our waters, including what species you may encounter, a few tips on how to catch them along with maps and directions on how to get there. You can buy or renew your membership online, and also purchase sixteen and seven day holiday tickets. We have a fully functional message forum where you can chat about your recent angling exploits, and you can even register to have our newsletter sent out to you automatically via email. All the latest news and up to date information on waters and matches can be found on the news and announcements pages.The association runs a busy match schedule throughout the year, including members, open and veterans matches on both our river sections and a few of our stillwaters.

Our Waters
We have access to over twenty stretches of prime Yorkshire river fishing on the Yorkshire Ouse, Derwent, Nidd, Foss, Rye and Seven. All river species can be encountered, so whether your thing is hunting specimen barbel, trotting for roach and dace or bagging bream, there is a river stretch for you.
Our canal stretches include the Pocklington, and Selby Canals and eleven miles of fishing on the Aire and Calder Canal. Each present their own challenges, and the fishing varies throughout the season, ranging from summer tenching to winter piking.
The YDAA can offer fishing on nine stillwaters, each with its own individual character. We have gravel pits, clay pits, an old estate lake, and a commercial-style three lake complex. Fishing is available throughout the year, and specimen fish of several species can be encountered in many of our venues.
