River Ouse Naburn

YDAA control the fishing from opposite the slipway in Acaster boat yard to the fence just below the downstream end of lock mouth, including the whole lock area.

YDAA currently also manage the section below, from the downstream end of lock mouth to the end of the caravan park field in conjunction with Naburn Caravan Park.

Naburn only day tickets for both coarse and game fishing are available either at the Caravan Site Shop (when open) or on-line. Anglers must be in possession of a valid day ticket or membership card before fishing. No coarse fishing until 16 June. Game fishing by permit only. Game fishing allowed 6 April to 31 October (inclusive).

Naburn Lock and the area upstream is PRIVATE, York DAA Game Permit only, water until 30 June, York DAA members only after 30 June.

Anyone found breaking these rules will be asked to leave the fishery immediately as they are on private property.

This is tidal water and care should be taken when fishing as water levels can raise and fall quickly.

NOTE: From 6 April to 30 June (inclusive) The area downstream of the falls can only be fished by Game Permit Holders.

Species & Tactics

Roach and skimmer bream can be caught on a feeder with maggot or caster, and the weir pool holds specimen chub, barbel and salmon.

Directions

Travelling from York take the A19 towards Selby. Turn right on to the B1222 (Naburn Lane.). Continue through the village and turn right to the lock. ACCESS TO THE CARAVAN PARK SECTION IS VIA A PRIVATE ROAD AND ANY NON-RESIDENT, WITHOUT THE CORRECT PERMIT IS TRESPASSING.
