River Nidd Skip Bridge

From old road bridge to the railway bridge at the upstream end. Day tickets are available from the usual outlets, and night fishing is allowed by prior arrangement via the Waters Secretary. A short fast stretch of water with loads of character. Occasionally match fished, and opposite bank is held by Leeds and District Amalgamated Society of Anglers so can be busy in summer months at weekends.

Species & Tactics

A feature packed stretch of the lower Nidd, suits a roving approach, many shallow glides with some deeper pools. This stretch contains a good head of barbel, chub, dace, and roach with occasional brown trout and grayling.

Directions

Take the A59 (Harrogate) from York, to Skip Bridge. Park on the old bridge, and access via the style.
