Vandalism

An incident took place at Park View Lake on 8th November whereby an angler leaving the water (presumably a member) smeared the lock in mud, possibly in an attempt to prevent it from working. This was reported to a bailiff attending shortly afterwards, who attempted to clean it. The report also said that a distinctive vehicle had left shortly before his arrival being driven erratically causing rutting to the approach track.

We also have suspicions that the lock at Sutton-upon-Derwent has also been tampered with, as this has been reported ‘out of order’ on a number of occasions recently.
