It will come as a shock to many of you to hear of the untimely death of John Stark. Until recently, he was Vice Chairman of the Amalgamation, a busy Fisheries Management Officer and a proactive member of the General Purposes Committee.
He had taken on the running of the Veterans’ Matches and had instigated Summer and Winter Series at Laybourne Lakes; but he was, more importantly, a good friend to many, always willing to cheerfully abuse you for beating him in a match [undeservedly, according to John], and equally willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
He will be sorely missed.
