Statutory Closed Season

It would seem that some confusion as arisen regarding the ‘game fishery’ designation of waters. On York Amalgamation preserves the only ones regarded as ‘game fisheries’ for the purpose of use of the ‘game permit’ are Acaster and Naburn south of York and Widdington north of the City. Waters such as the Rye, Ouse, etc., are game fisheries as designated by the Environment Agency, and are not under the prohibition conditions as shown on the YDAA waters above.
