Pocklington Canal Vandalism

Since the last newsheet was issued there have been reports of fairly major vandalism at various points along the canal, involving damage to locks and other equipment. Any angler seeing evidence of this, or it actually taking place, should immediately inform Canal & Rivers Trust, Pocklington Canal Amenity Society, the Environment Agency and York Amalgamation Trustees, or any of these authorities.

Protection of your fishing and your waters (even if only rented) should be your first concern.

Update from C a. R. T., 8th June, the canal is still closed to navigation due to low water levels. Please keep watch for any instances of fish distress, and report it immediately to the Environment Agency, 0800 80 70 60.
