New Rules for 2024

We have introduced a number of new rules to the code of behaviour for this year.

Rule 23. No spinning or lure fishing, including fly fishing shall be permitted on any YDAA still water between the 15th of March and the 1st of October.

Rule 24. During the coarse fish closed season (15th March to 15th June inclusive) the only type of
fishing permitted on any YDAA river section shall be that using an artificial fly, spinner or lure with the sole intention of catching “game” fish. No fishing of any type shall be allowed on any YDAA river section between March 15th and March 24th inclusive.

Rule 25. No member shall fish from any vessel on any waters exclusively controlled by York Amalgamation. Vessels include; boats (of any type), paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, belly boats and rafts.The launching or using of any vessel, by a member, for any use (including angling) is not allowed on Amalgamation controlled waters except where authorised by the Trustees/GPC or by other lawful agencies or by law. The ban on vessels shall not apply to bait boats where used in a responsible manner.
