It seems that it is not generally known that when purchasing your membership through the website, you have the facility to print yourself off what essentially is a “cover note” for 28 days, which allows you to go fishing immediately after receipt of confirmation of your membership via e-mail. Also, receipt of this e-mail on your smartphone is a way of showing membership, should you be challenged by a Bailiff, or other member. Full documentation is usually despatched 7 to 10 days after your application is made.
