Giant Hogweed at Beningbrough

A Bailiff has reported a stand of Giant Hogweed approximately 150 yards downstream of the Nidd mouth sandbed. This was reported to the Beningbrough Hall staff who have had it removed. Notably last year there was also a stand on the bank just above the Nidd mouth. There is also an area of the plants above the ‘pipe hole’ at Poppleton. Members are advised to avoid any contact with this toxic plant, as this brings out painful blistering.
