Recently a member of the public (non-angler) was driving around looking to “take a walk” and he saw one of our local parking areas in which he parked his car and went walking. On arrival back at his car he found the gate locked. By ringing the Secretary he was able to be released from the car park, fortunately by one of the Committee who was on the bank at the time.
Just a small instance of our constant reminding our members that on our locked waters the locks must be closed each and every time you go through them, even though you know other anglers may be following you through shortly. This chap was very fortunate in that members were on the bank, and he was able to be let out, or he could have spent some considerable time viewing the carpark. Lock lock to lock, not lock to chain.
Don’t get locked in!
