parking and access to derwent opp howsham hall

could someone tell me how to park and access this stretch of the derwent above howsham bridge opp howsham hall. i know its above the weir and i will be coming from full sutton side. also what pegs would you advise and how deep is it, thank you to all replies in advance

Hi Shaun,
Personally, I would park near the Level Crossing (Howsham Gates) on Riders Lane, probably on the Crambe side of the railway line.
Walk down Riders Lane, in the direction of Howsham Bridge, a little way.
Take the first signposted public footpath to your left. Follow it down to the river. This brings you out just upstream of the Hall.
This section should fish well if the river is carrying extra water. I would expect a fair old depth. Sorry I can't be of more help. Best of luck,

thank you stu for the help, i thought that there was a lane you could drive down on riders lane that took you near the river and you parked near a big tree does anyone know if this is right and could give me there thoughts on this, i may be wrong

Fished the Hall section many, many years ago and never remember being able to park near to the river. Parking was always (and still looks to be as per the fact sheet) in the place circled red on the image. Pull in off the road then walk down to the river, path comes out just down stream from the Hall. Don't think it's a particularly long walk...

I think, if you are careful, you can now park inside the gateway as long as you do not block access for the farmer.
