Many thanks to those who took part in the swim clearing exercise at Hemingbrough Pond on the 18th, your help was very welcome. So, if anyone else is interested in helping out, then just pitch-up from around 10:30am...as before, your help will be more than welcome!!

8 May 2010

Members are again reminded that Marley Lake at the Laybourne Complex is closed to angling all day on Mondays until the end of September.

Park View - A report was received on 27th April regarding a misdemeanour taking place on this water on 24th April, with a further comment that it had also happened on the evening of 23rd April. Once again if these are not reported immediately, then little or no action can be taken. In this age of scientific advancement and enhanced communication methods it is not impossible for misdemeanor of this kind to be reported as they are happening, resulting in action being taken to protect your fishing.

28 April 2010

WHELDRAKE INGS WATER. Although we gave this water up some years ago, local residents would like our help in 'confirming' a right of way over the footbridge. It needs to be a report of usage of the bridge over a great period of time. The path is from Storwood (Grid Ref: SE710 444) to the west side of the river Derwent at Wheldrake (Grid Ref: SE 694 444) and also another from the west side of the river at Wheldrake (Grid Ref: SE694 444) over Wheldrake bridge to the north side of the Old Course of the River Derwent (Grid Ref: SE 695 445). If any members can help could they please contact Ern Smith by phone on 01904 608475 or e-mail at ern.smith@btinternet.com

26th April 2010

Rawcliffe Lake. A local angler has reported catching a crayfish recently. After contacting the Environment Agency it has been confirmed as a "signal crayfish". These should not be returned to the water, and should not be transferred to any other water. Efforts will be made to try and eradicate this problem and the Agency has tried several methods resulting in limited success.

12 April 2010

Apologies if there has been a bit of confusion, but the 'extra' bank holiday matches taking place at Park View will not be requiring all the pegs as previously reported, so there will be pegs available on these days for pleasure anglers.

10th April 2010

Laybourne Lakes - Brown's and Potter's pools will be CLOSED TO ANGLING on Sunday 25th April for a working party to carry general maintenance work. Marley Pool will remain open. All welcome. Thanks to all those who turned up on 28th March.

Marley Pool will again be closed to fishing on Mondays only from 1st May to 30th September.

24th March 2010

Jeff Marley and Marcus Wade have arranged the following additional matches for the Bank Holidays........£10 entry, draw 09:00, fishing from 10:00 to 15:00, contact either organiser, their numbers are in the Year Book.

The matches will not be using all the available pegs.

13th March 2010

On Sunday 28th March, there will be a 'working party' at the Laybourne Lakes Complex.  Brown's and Potter's will be closed on this day. The fisheries management team would welcome as many pairs of hands as possible to help out on the day, so if you fancy rebuilding stages, fixing the bridge and performing general tidy-up duties please go along to the complex and work for as long as you are able....it would be most appreciated.
